On the southern part of the Makarska riviera, at the foothill of mount Biokovo there lies Zivogosce and Mala Duba.

It is comprised of three smaller, non-coherent places on the coast: Porat - Mala Duba – Blato, and old hamlets along the old road. It is only 20 km away from Makarska, 80 km from Split and 120 km from Dubrovnik.

Natural beauties of olive groves and pine woods hovering over small pebbled beaches that are 6 km long, clean and unpolluted sea, all in the foothill of a big mountain (hilltop Sutvid – 1155 m) and all giving tourists a special lure and pleasure of stay.

Mala Duba is small settlement directly at the sea into direct sews from Zivogosce. It is surrounded from north with mountain Biokovo and from south with island Hvar. Summer period start in May and last at the end of October. It is ideal place for family holiday.

This unique combination of sea and land provides a magnificent relaxation. It is small tourist resort, a real example of Mediterranean like it used to be. There are also a lot of small beaches through out the whole place and some of them are for nudist. Sunset on the Adriatic coast is spectacular and romantic. Several times during the summer Makarska hosts music and folklore evenings as well as traditional summer carnivals in which locals and their guests alike joyfully participate.

If you like a good bite and wine, we recommend you visit any of numerous restaurants and taverns which offer local specialties. Numerous pebble beaches with their cocktail bars attract many young people. Other popular destinations are the cave above the sea where the famous Makarska bar called Deep and disco bar Grotta are situated. We also recommend the visit to the Beach bar Twister and Beach bar Buba.

Caffes located in city`s old heart near the main square and along the waterfront are the centre of social life during the day. You can peacefully drink your espresso on sunny terrace while enyoing the seaview. At night, that very place is becoming a downtown of night life, music and dancing, just as disco Opera (nearby) and Tropicana (hotel Meteor).
